- Record & Upload a video of your best jump, score, etc... Creativity is welcome!
- The top three scores of each challenge will receive a prize.
Candy Cup Games Summer 2020 July 22nd - August 22nd
1. LEAPING ARTISTRY
Long jump challenge
This first challenge tests how far you can launch a candycar® off a ramp using only gravity: Build up speed with a long, straight runway, and send your candycar® flying with a perfectly lined-up ramp. The furthest jump is declared the winner.
Fortunately, you don’t have to start from scratch; we have had Candylab experts working around the clock to develop blueprints for a state-of-the-art barrel ramp you can build yourself. Print out the instructions, get some cardboard, and start building! If the ramp isn't perfect we encourage you to tweak the design and find ways to make it your own.
RULES
- The Candycar® must be gravity-driven; so, no initial boosts.
- The distance traveled is measured from the end of the barrel ramp to where the Candycar® first touches the ground.
- The landing zone must be at the same height as the ramp.
TIPS
- Speed is key, meaning length of ramp will make a difference.
- But precision is also important: too much speed and your car will veer off, jump off the track, etc.
- Make sure you record the landing spot so you can measure distance accurately. Measurements without clear reference points will be disqualified.
- Use the provided protractor tool to make tests based on specific incline-distance combos. Never miss the opportunity to test out some basic physics!

02. PRECISION PERFORMANCE
checkpoint challenge
This game is a tricky one. The goal is to roll a Candycar® through as many hair-tight gates as possible without accidentally touching them; a true challenge of precision. Whoever passes the most gates wins! The best part is the gates are all made for you, all you have to do is print them out and try your best not to let your Candycar® make contact with them.
To start, you’ll need to print out the gates - make sure to select the right style depending on if you’re competing with a Candycar® or a Candyvan. Then, carefully cut the gates out along the lines. Find a smooth surface, set up your gates, and let the cars roll!
RULES
- The gates must be precisely cut along the lines. If we don’t see the checkered pattern, that gate doesn’t count! No cheating by scaling up the gates either.
- No guides or rails may be used after the first gate.
- Gates must be at least 5” apart. Use the provided measuring piece.
- A car must fully pass the gate without stopping for it to count.
- No modifications to the car shape are allowed.
- In the case of a tie, the fastest run is declared the winner. The uploaded video will determine the run time.
TIPS
- Use construction paper if possible; a sturdier paper will make your practice easier.
- You can tape them down if you feel confident your car can be run along the same path every time. Otherwise you may find them taping and un-taping them a few times.

03. MASTER OF ACCURACY
Target challenge
Put on your markers, get, set, go! In the Target Challenge, you will strap a marker on top of your Candycar®, line up a shot, and launch your Candycar® at the target. The farthest hit wins!
We’ve created the target for you, so grab a marker, your Candycar®, and print out our PDF. Be sure to lay down your measuring tape so we can see just how far away you were when you yelled out “Bullseye!” as your Candycar® hits the target.
RULES
- The distance is measured from the release point to the target.
- The car must be launched by hand only.
- No guides/guard rails can be used.
- The distance is measured from the release point to the target.
TIPS
- Ideally keep this away from immaculate white baseboards if present in your home, things may get messy. Washable markers are HIGHLY recommended.
- You can keep adjusting and moving the target once you get the hang of how your particular car: some may pull to one side, some are faster than others, etc.

04. AIR APTITUDE
Balloon challenge
Have you ever wished you could pod race just like in the movies? Well, now is your chance to give it a try! It is as easy as tying a string between a balloon and Candycar® to see how far it can go. The farthest distance wins!
You will need a balloon, a Candycar®, string, and a pilots license (we’re kidding, no pilot license required). Set up your starting point and let it fly, be sure to layout some tape measure to record just how far you flew!
